The Core Assessment Approach

Simply described, the Core Assessment Survey approach involves:

·        Having the majority of an organisation's managers and employees describe their perceptions of their organisation’s strengths and weakness using a relatively short (107 question) survey called the “Core Assessment Survey” (CAS).

·        Presenting the results of the Core Assessment Survey to the organisation’s senior management during a workshop that typically includes three activities:

1.          presentation of a concise picture of the organisation as it is perceived by the organisation’s managers and employees,

2.          agreement on and prioritization of the organisation’s primary strengths and weaknesses, and

3.          development of goal-oriented strategies for eliminating or, at least, reducing current and potential causes of unacceptably low organisational effectiveness.
